Be prepared and become a Better Diver with basic life support skills under your weight belt. These courses are engaging and fun. We believe that every diver needs basic life support skills and that every dive boat and/or dive site should be equipped with, at minimum, a DAN First Aid Kit & Oxygen Unit. It's DAN's mission to educate divers and make this valuable lifesaving equipment available wherever divers dive.

Automated External Defibrillators (AED) For SCUBA Diving Injuries
The Divers Alert Network (DAN) Automated External Defibrillators for Scuba Diving course teaches divers and other interested parties to provide care for sudden cardiac arrest including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AEDs). Since more than 10 percent of all dive fatalities are actually caused by cardiovascular disease, according to DAN dive accident and fatality statistics, this is a very important course.
Skill Performance Objectives: To successfully complete the DAN Automated External Defibrillators for Scuba Diving course, participants must skill and confidence in the use of an automated external defibrillator in a simulated aquatic environment and pass a written exam.
$75 / Student (includes text and all necessary training materials)

Automated External Defibrillators for Aquatic Emergencies
When a person drowns, they may or may not inhale water. They normally enter cardiac arrest because of the inability to breathe. This Divers Alert Network (DAN) course teaches interested parties to provide care for cardiac arrest by using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Skill Performance Objectives: To successfully complete the DAN Automated External Defibrillators for aquatics course, participants must skill and confidence in the use of an automated external defibrillator in a simulated aquatic environment and pass a written exam.
$75 / Student (includes text and all necessary training materials)
Prerequisite: CPR
Classroom: 3-4 hours

Basic Life Support For SCUBA Diving Professionals
The remote nature of dive accidents, whether a few hours from shore or days from civilization, frequently requires more advanced levels of care than are offered by traditional or entry-level CPR programs. The Divers Alert Network (DAN) Basic Life Support for Dive Professionals teaches the dive professional and interested non-professional, intermediate level care. This course also contains AED use and pediatric CPR. A Huge value and a lot of great information!
Skill Performance Objectives: To successfully complete the DAN Basic Life Support for Dive Professionals course, participants must demonstrate skill and confidence in the use of an automated external defibrillator in a simulated aquatic environment, demonstrate confidence in providing basic life support to an injured adult, child, and infant, utilize advanced level skill in providing rescue breathing and pass a written exam.
$175 / Student (includes text and all necessary training materials)
$125 / Student (with AEDs for SCUBA Diving Course (substitutes BLSPRO AED segment))
Prerequisite: DAN Oxygen First Aid For Scuba Diving Injuries (Highly Recommended: Basic CPR/First Aid (This course teaches both, but having a basic understanding of both will streamline the course))

Remote Emergency Medical Oxygen (REMO2)
The DAN Remote Emergency Medical Oxygen (REMO2™) system module supplements the DAN Oxygen First Aid in Scuba Diving Injuries course. Based on medical closed-circuit oxygen rebreather technology, the REMO2™ device provides injured divers with high concentrations of emergency oxygen for extended periods. The Divers Alert Network (DAN) Remote Emergency Medical Oxygen (REMO2™) instructs the Oxygen Provider in the use of DAN's new REMO2™ system.
Skill Performance Objectives: To successfully complete the DAN Remote Emergency Medical Oxygen (REMO2™) course, participants must successfully assemble and deploy the DAN REMO2 unit and pass a written test.

On-Site Neurological Assessment For Divers
The Divers Alert Network (DAN) On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers course will teach divers how to conduct a neurological assessment on a potentially injured diver. The information gained in this assessment can help convince a diver of the need for oxygen first aid, and help a dive physician determine the proper treatment.
Skill Performance Objectives: To successfully complete the DAN On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers course, participants must successfully complete an on-site Neurological assessment and pass a written test.

Diving First Aid for Professional Divers
Objectives
The objective of first aid is to establish and/or maintain the life of an injured or ill person until assistance (generally, emergency medical services — EMS) arrives or becomes available at the scene.
It is equally important that the rescuer do no further harm to the injured person. Providing oxygen to an injured diver, for example, will not cause any harm as long as the scene is safe and the oxygen equipment is functioning properly. This means that you must understand the limitations of your skills and knowledge and not attempt any procedure beyond your ability and the scope of your training.

Diving Medicine for Divers:
When you want to know more than just basic first aid techniques, Dive Medicine for Divers is your next step. Ultimately, more knowledge and a better understanding of how our bodies react to the pressures and stresses of diving lead to safer divers as we understand our limitations and the limitations of the situation. The program is designed to inform divers about what happens in a diving emergency and how diving affects their bodies. It provides a framework to educate interested divers in a series of topics not normally addressed in diving training.
